Knowledge Development
Through independent study and instructor-led sessions, you’ll deepen your understanding of physics, physiology, equipment, dive planning, and environmental considerations. You’ll also explore the role and responsibilities of a Divemaster, including risk management, supervision, and customer service.

Diving physics and physiology
Decompression theory and dive planning
PADI standards and procedures
Leading dives and managing dive operations
Assisting with training and supervising student divers

Waterskills
To be a competent Divemaster, you’ll need a solid level of fitness and watermanship. This section tests your swimming ability, rescue skills, and comfort in the water. You’ll complete timed swims, demonstrate advanced rescue techniques, and refine your diving skills to demonstration-quality level.

400m swim, 800m snorkel, and 100m tired diver tow
24 dive skills assessed for demonstration quality

Hands on Training
The core of the Divemaster experience is hands-on training alongside experienced instructors. You’ll assist with student divers during courses, supervise certified divers, and lead real dive activities. This real-world experience prepares you to confidently manage dive logistics, guide underwater tours, and ensure diver safety.
You’ll also complete:
A mapping project of a dive site
A search and recovery scenario
Deep dive scenario and emergency planning
Internship or simulated practical exercises
Workshops on dive briefings, skill demonstrations, and problem-solving
